Happy Monday everyone. If you’re like me, you’re always looking to try the latest dining option in Puerto Vallarta. There is a plethora of fantastic and unique restaurants in PV, making this incredible city a very fun place to be a foodie. I wanted to shine the spotlight on one of my newest favorite spots, Calmate Cafe in the 5 de Diciembre neighborhood.

Calmate Cafe is run by a lovely young couple, Manuel and Nicole, who have a passion for healthy cuisine and simple living. They have created a beautifully relaxing space where they come up with some delicious breakfast and lunch options. Their staff is very friendly and you can’t help but feel at home in their restaurant.

If you have a love and appreciation for sweet potatoes, then Calmate Cafe is a must try for you. They incorporate sweet potato into many of their signature dishes. “Camo Tacos” are a delicious mix of scrambled egg, mushroom, and sweet potato in a fresh flower tortilla. They have some very tasty combinations that will intrigue you and delight your senses.

But my favorite items on their menu are their homemade cookies! These cookies are delicious and a must try!!

If you are in the downtown area and looking for a great daytime place to nosh and relax with friends, I must highly recommend you try Calmate Cafe. Just two blocks from the beach and 1 block to the malecón, this makes a fantastic break from all the activities downtown PV has to offer!
