Giving Back During the Holidays

The holidays are a special time of the year where we always seem to re-evaluate the balance of which we give and receive in our lives. I am so grateful for having been welcomed to this wonderful city of Puerto Vallarta so many years ago. I am active in various charities and community projects, but I realize this city and its amazing residents have given me far more that I could ever give back. This year’s holiday season will be an especially poignant one. 2020 has held challenges for many, and there are many people in Puerto Vallarta that have suffered from the lack of tourism.

The Vallarta Food Bank was born in March of 2020 with the intention to provide relief to the residents of Puerto Vallarta that have been impacted by the Covid-19 pandemic and its economic repercussions. Every week, the Vallarta Food Bank gives out food packages which include staples like rice beans, canned foods, etc. The Charitys has evolved over the last 9 months and now offers hot meals and showers as well.

This Holiday Season, the Vallarta Food Bank has organized the gifting of presents to the children of over 500 families that regularly rely on their services. Boardwalk Realty is honored to be part of this great idea and we have been shopping for 134 teenagers between the ages of 14-17. Our office is currently overflowing with  soccer balls, Leonel Messi jerseys, earrings, makeup, baseball caps, backpacks, purses, art supplies, and more.

If you find yourself wondering how the people of PV are doing this Holiday Season and how you can help out, please visit to make a donation to this most wonderful organization. Puerto Vallarta really does have some of the nicest people in the whole world! It’s time to support and give back if we can.

What are some of your favorite organizations to give back to during the Holidays? I would love to hear from you in the comments below? -John
